Axid Uses (Cont.)

Off-Label Axid Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Axid for treating something other than the condition(s) discussed above. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, there are a few off-label Axid uses, such as:
 
  • Prevention of ulcers in people in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital (this use is also known as "stress ulcer prophylaxis")
  • Prevention of acid-related pneumonia during surgeries
  • Treatment of H. pylori infections.
