Curcumin? Curcumine is a common misspelling of curcumin.
Curcumin, the active component of a spice used in curry powder, is claimed to be beneficial for a number of medical conditions. It may inhibit the growth of new blood vessels (which can be useful for preventing or treating cancer), be helpful for arthritis or heart disease, and help prevent blood platelets from sticking together. Curcumin may also have antioxidant effects and may stimulate the immune system. Potential side effects include diarrhea and nausea.
