Curcumin is the active component of a certain spice used in curry powder. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, and may stimulate the immune system. Curcumin could be beneficial for treating or preventing a number of medical conditions, including cancer and high cholesterol. Some people are more likely than others to experience problems with it, so be sure to talk to your healthcare provider before using the product if you have a bleeding disorder, gallbladder disease, or any allergies.
