Generic prescription Axid is available in 150 mg and 300 mg tablets. A generic oral solution is also available. There are currently no generic versions of Axid AR. A number of companies manufacture generic Axid, including Eon Labs, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Par Pharmaceutical.

Generic for Axid: An Overview

Axid® (nizatidine) is a medication that has been licensed to treat several conditions of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines. It is part of a class of drugs known as H-2 blockers. Axid is available both over the counter and by prescription.
Prescription Axid capsules are made by Reliant Pharmaceuticals, while prescription Axid® Oral Solution is made by Braintree Laboratories. Over-the-counter Axid® AR is made by Whitehall-Robins. The patents for Axid capsules and Axid AR tablets have expired; however, there are no generic over-the-counter Axid AR tablets currently available.
