A number of drugs can interact with Prevacid 24HR, including digoxin, warfarin, and ampicillin. These interactions may affect the way your body absorbs the medications, making them less effective or -- in some cases -- more effective. To help ensure a safe course of treatment, your healthcare provider may adjust your dosages or recommend an alternative heartburn medication.
An Overview of Interactions With Prevacid 24HRPrevacid® 24HR (lansoprazole) can potentially react with a few other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Prevacid 24HR include but are not limited to:
- Atazanavir (Reyataz®)
- Clopidogrel (Plavix®)
- Delavirdine (Rescriptor®)
- Digoxin (Digitek®, Lanoxin®)
- Certain diuretics, such as:
- Erlotinib (Tarceva®)
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
- Methotrexate (Rheumatrex®, Trexall®)
- Nelfinavir (Viracept®)
- Posaconazole (Noxafil®)
- Tacrolimus (Prograf®)
- Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
