Turmeric has not been extensively studied for medicinal use, so it is unclear what potential side effects this substance may cause. Some clinical studies have shown that possible side effects of turmeric may include nausea and diarrhea. When applied to the skin, turmeric may cause irritation and allergic reactions. Although turmeric seems unlikely to cause any serious side effects, there may be an increased risk of bleeding.
