The medication comes in two different forms: a powder (used to make an oral solution) and capsules. Nexium is generally taken once a day, at least one hour before a meal.
Nexium belongs to a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. By blocking acid production sites in the stomach, it can decrease the amount of stomach acid and help relieve
heartburn and other GERD symptoms.
