At this time, there is no OTC (over-the-counter) Nexium. There are, however, other proton pump inhibitors that can be used for treating similar symptoms. There are three proton pump inhibitors that are available over-the-counter, including:
Although over-the-counter Nexium does not exist, Prilosec OTC,
Prevacid 24HR, or
Zegerid OTC can be used as over-the-counter alternatives for relieving
heartburn. Like Nexium, they decrease the amount of acid in your stomach by blocking the acid production sites.
