Nexium? Nexum is a common misspelling of Nexium.

Nexium® (esomeprazole magnesium) is a medication licensed to treat several conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and H. pylori infections. This prescription medication can also help prevent stomach ulcers in people who use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). As a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), Nexium works by decreasing the amount of acid in your stomach. The medicine comes in the form of a capsule or powder, and is typically taken once a day before a meal. Possible side effects include diarrhea, headaches, and nausea.
