Pepcid Dosage for GERD
The recommended dosage of
Pepcid for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (
GERD) in adults is Pepcid 20 mg, taken twice daily for up to six weeks. For people with esophagitis (damage to the esophagus) due to GERD, the recommended dose is Pepcid 20 mg or 40 mg, taken twice daily for up to 12 weeks.
Pepcid Dosage for Pathological Hypersecretory Conditions
The recommended Pepcid dosage for pathological hypersecretory conditions (such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome) is 20 to 160 mg, taken every six hours, depending on the severity of the condition.

Pepcid Dosage for Ulcers in Children
For children ages 1 to 16, the recommended Pepcid dosage for treating ulcers is 0.5 mg per kg per day (about 0.23 mg per pound per day), either given twice a day or once a day at bedtime, up to a maximum dose of 40 mg per day. Pepcid is not approved to treat ulcers in children less than 12 months old.
Pepcid Dosage for GERD in Infants and Children
For infants, the recommended Pepcid dose for the treatment of GERD is 0.5 mg per kg (about 0.23 mg per pound), either once daily (for infants less than three months old) or twice daily (for infants three to 12 months old).
For children ages 1 to 16, the recommended dose for GERD is 0.5 mg per kg (about 0.23 mg per pound), taken twice daily, up to a maximum of 40 mg twice a day.
