Prevacid Drug Interactions

For people taking Prevacid, drug interactions are an important consideration. Prevacid has the potential to interact with a number of different medications. Possible drug interactions involve medications such as digoxin, ketoconazole, and nelfinavir. Other drugs that may interfere with Prevacid include warfarin.

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when any of the drugs mentioned above are combined with Prevacid.
 
 
Ampicillin
Prevacid may decrease the absorption of ampicillin into the body, perhaps making it less effective. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Atazanavir
Prevacid may decrease the absorption of atazanavir into the body, making it less effective. For this reason, you should not take Prevacid if you are taking atazanavir.
 
Delavirdine
Prevacid may decrease the level of delavirdine in the blood. In general, this combination should be avoided.
