Prevacid OTC

Prevacid® (
 lansoprazole) is a prescription medicine licensed to treat various conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, and intestines. It is approved for the treatment of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), duodenal and stomach ulcers, erosive esophagitis, pathological hypersecretory conditions, and H. pylori infections.
 
This medicine belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors. It works by decreasing the amount of acid in the stomach by blocking the acid production sites. This action can help relieve heartburn and other GERD symptoms.
 
Although the medication comes in several different forms and strengths, there is currently no Prevacid OTC (over-the-counter). In addition, Prevacid OTC is not available in generic form. This proton pump inhibitor comes in a tablet, capsule, and liquid forms.
