Prilosec OTC® (omeprazole magnesium) is a medication approved for treating frequent heartburn in adults. It is not intended for rapid heartburn relief; instead, it is taken by mouth once daily to decrease acid production in the stomach. The drug comes in tablet form and is available over-the-counter.
