Prilosec? Priolsec is a common misspelling of Prilosec.
People who have certain conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, or intestines may benefit from Prilosec® (omeprazole). As a type of proton pump inhibitor (PPI), the medication can help treat conditions such as GERD and gastric ulcers by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Prilosec is available in prescription and non-prescription forms, and is typically taken once or twice a day. Most people tolerate it well. However, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using it, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you may have and any other medications you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
