Reglan Side Effects
Fatigue, insomnia, frequent urination, and drowsiness are possible side effects of Reglan. In most cases, side effects of the medication are bothersome but usually not dangerous. Certain Reglan side effects can be potentially serious, however, and should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately. Seek medical attention if you experience impotence, any vision changes, or blue discoloration of the skin.
As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Reglan® (metoclopramide). However, not everyone who takes the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Reglan. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of Reglan side effects with you.)
For recently approved medications, very specific information about side effects is available. However, for older medications (such as Reglan), the prescribing information provides only vague side effect information. Based on this information, possible bothersome (but usually not dangerous) side effects of Reglan may include:
- Frequent urination
- Loss of bladder control
- Vision changes.
