If you have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) or diabetic gastroparesis, your healthcare provider may prescribe Reglan® (metoclopramide) to help improve your symptoms. The drug has several actions in the digestive tract; it helps food move through the stomach more quickly and prevents the stomach contents from refluxing back up the esophagus. While most people tolerate Reglan well, potential side effects include fatigue, impotence, and breast leakage. The medication is available in tablet, oral solution, and injectable form.
